WELCOME TO KINETON HIGH SCHOOL

KHS students win The Engineering Education Scheme trophy for the ‘Contribution to Business’ award!

The Engineering Education Scheme is a six month programme where students and teachers link with local companies to work on real, scientific, engineering and technology projects.

The project involved a Scheme launch, visit to Jaguar Land Rover to see the project in context, a University Residential Workshop at Loughborough University, where students created and tested a small, scaled prototype of a Landrover Discovery, the completion of a report presenting their evidence from testing and their findings from the overall project, and a Celebration and Assessment Day. On the Celebration and Assessment day students set up a display stand, did a 15 minute presentation to a panel of six leading engineering professionals and were interviewed about their stand by the panel, other teams, teachers and companies which had attended the event.

Out of 73 teams the Kineton High School team won the trophy for the ‘Contribution to Business’ award, an amazing achievement! The Kineton team received praise from their local company on the usefulness of their project as well as fantastic feedback on their stand and encouragement to pursue careers in engineering.
