Vacancy for Co-opted Governors

The Governing Body at Kineton High School currently has a vacancy for two Co-opted Governors.

Co-opted governors are recruited on the basis of the skills, knowledge and experience they possess. Governors play an important part in the leadership of the school and work together with staff to make sure that the school provides a challenging and supportive environment for all pupils. Governors do not need to be experts in the field of education but you do need to have the time and the willingness to get involved.  We would be particularly interested to hear from volunteers with experience or expertise in finance/accountancy; human resources; procurement; property/estate management; professional leadership skills and those who have links with the local community. However, most important for us is enthusiasm, commitment and strong belief in the right of every young person to an excellent education.

A governor also needs to be able to work as part of a team and develop relationships with a range of people, have the ability to question and to make connections between different types of information. Training is an essential part of the role and governors are provided with ongoing training, free of charge, to enable them to discharge their functions effectively. The usual term of office is four years from the date of appointment.

Expressions of interest and requests for further information should be made to the Clerk to the Governing Body, Mrs Maria Page at

Closing date for applications is Thursday 1st September 2022.
